“Maestro” at the Yerevan Museum of Modern Art

Until June 30, art lovers can visit the solo exhibition “Maestro” by artist Eduard Kharazyan at the Yerevan Museum of Modern Art.

This is the artist’s first posthumous solo exhibition, organized by the Yerevan Museum of Modern Art.

The exhibition opened on June 17․ The artist often emphasized that he had lived his life in such a way that it turned into painting, and painting, in turn, became his life.

EDUARD KHARAZYAN

Biography

Eduard Kharazyan was born in 1939 in Tbilisi. In 1957, he moved to Armenia and settled in Yerevan. From 1961 to 1966, he studied at the Yerevan Institute of Fine Arts and Theatre. Between 1964 and 1984, he worked as a production designer for films at Armenfilm and Mosfilm, and designed stage productions for the Gabriel Sundukyan National Academic Theatre. From 1970 to 1975, he served as Head of the Fine Arts Department at the Yerevan House of Artistic Education. He became a member of the Artists' Union of Armenia in 1970. Beginning in 1977, he taught painting at the Khachatur Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University. From 1981 to 1988, he was the chief artist of the Malyan Theatre-Studio. As an artist and production designer, Kharazyan worked on several films, including Baghdasar Divorces His Wife, Lenin and Ali, and A Drop of Honey. The artist passed away on September 10, 2024.
