Ara Shiraz

Ara Shiraz (1941-2014) In 1941 - was born in Yerevan. In 1966 - graduated from Yerevan Art and Theater Institute. In 1966 Participant of republican, all-union and international exhibitions. Honored Artist of Armenia since 1977. In 1979 - won the state award for the "Dvin" bas-relief on the front of the "Dvin" hotel (1978, Yerevan). Winner of the Presidential Award. Among the most significant works are: "Antun's" composition (1969), "The Insider" (1970), "Woman with a Shield" (1970), "Ani" Hotel (Yerevan), among the portraits: "William Saroyan" (1975), "Pablo Picasso" (1976), "Hrachya Nersisyan" (1976), among the statues: "Paruyr" Sevak" (for the school of the same name, 1974, Yerevan), "Yeghishe Charents" (in front of the poet's house-museum, 1979, Charentsavan), "Al. Myasnikyan" (1981, Yerevan) and others. 2014 - died in Yerevan. The works are in the Museum of Modern Art (Yerevan), the National Gallery of Armenia (Yerevan).
