Yervand Gojabashyan (1939)   Yervand Gojabashyan (1939) In 1939 - was born in Aleppo (Syria). In 1966 - graduated from the Art and Theater Institute (Yerevan). In 1967 - participant of republican, all-union and international exhibitions. He has been living in the USA since the beginning of the 1980s. Among the most significant works are "Srbuhi" (1965), "The Dove" (1967), "Anoush" (1969), "Emma" (1973) and others. Sculptures: "Conversation" (1967), "Youth" (1973), the bas-relief at the entrance of "Ani" Hotel (1970, Yerevan), the relief of the facade of the Institute of Arts (1969-1970, Dushanbe), the bust of Hovhannes Tumanyan for the school of the same name (1971, Vanadzor). In these works, the principles of classical sculpture are combined with the national one. In the USA, more free in terms of form, but within the framework of the same aesthetic principles, works were created. "Portrait of Chopin" (1983), "Eternity" (1983), "Memory of a Dead Horse" (1989), "Baptismal Basin" (1989) and others. In 2001 - All Armenians were invited to Etchmiadzin by the Catholicos to create the high sculpture at the new entrance of the monastery. The works are located in the Museum of Modern Art (Yerevan), the National Gallery of Armenia (Yerevan), the Museum of Wood Art (Yerevan), and the Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow).
