Hakob Ananikyan (1919-1977) Hakob Ananikyan (1919-1977) In 1919 - was born in Leninakan (Gyumri). In 1939 - graduated from P. Terlemezyan Art School (Yerevan). In 1940 - was admitted to the Institute of Decorative and Applied Arts (Moscow). 1941-1945 - participated in the Great Patriotic War. 1947-1966 - was the director of Leninakan city museum. In 1952 - graduated from the Art and Theater Institute (Yerevan) as an external student. Since 1940, he has participated in republican and later all-Union and international exhibitions (Armenia, Russia, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Argentina, Mongolia). Taught by S. Merkurov Art School (Leninaka). In 1965 - was awarded the title of Honored Pedagogue of Armenia. In 1977 - died in Yerevan. In 1978 - a posthumous exhibition was organized (Union of Artists of Armenia, Yerevan). The works are located in the Museum of Modern Art (Yerevan), the National Gallery of Armenia (Yerevan), the funds of the Ministry of Culture of Armenia (Yerevan), the houses of culture of different regions of Armenia.
