Carlos Abovyan (1937-1992) Home >: Library >: Carlos Abovyan Carlos Abovyan (1937-1992) In 1937 - was born in Vanadzor (Armenia). After finishing high school, he worked as an artist-designer in a chemical factory (Vanadzor). Since 1975, he has been completely devoted to painting. He engaged in self-education in the museums of Yerevan and Moscow, studied the works of great masters with books and albums. He considered Armenian miniature painters as his teachers, as well as such Armenian masters as Vardges Surenyants, Alexander Bazhbeuk-Melikyan, Minas and others. In world painting, Rembrandt and Van Gogh were his favorite. He thought that the nature of Lorva Valley played a big role in his formation as an artist. In 1986 - The album "Armenian Palette" was published in Czechoslovakia, in which 5 of his works were presented alongside the works of Minas, Saryan, Bazhbeuk-Melikyan. In 1987 - six works were donated to the Museum of Modern Art (Yerevan). In 1992 - died in Vanadzor. The works are in the Museum of Modern Art (Yerevan), as well as in many private collections.
