Ruben Hovnatanyan

Ruben Hovnatanyan (1940-1999) In 1940 - was born in Yerevan. In 1965 - graduated from Yerevan Art and Theater Institute. Since his student years, he participated in republican and all-union exhibitions (he was awarded with certificates of honor and diplomas). Later, he participated in international exhibitions in France, USA, Portugal, Greece, Russia. In 1976 - was awarded the State Prize of the Leninist Committee of the USSR for the works "Eternal Union", "Builders of my city", "Colleagues", "Victory Day". 1970-1982 - H. Hakobyani, M. Gyurdjian, G. He worked with Smbatyan and others on monumental mosaic compositions in Jermuk, Stepanavan, Gyumri, Sevan. From 1992, biblical plots appear in the works: "Mysterious Supper", "Lament for Christ", "Annunciation" and others. He had a number of individual exhibitions. In 1999 - died in Yerevan. The works are in the Museum of Contemporary Art (Yerevan), the National Gallery of Armenia (Yerevan), and in many private collections in Armenia and abroad.
